Fusion Fiesta...a Celebration of Tribal Fusion Belly Dance!

Farfesha Belly Dance and sister Albuquerque dance troupe the Rogue Bindis are teaming up to bring you a weekend of Tribal Fusion Belly Dance featuring two rising stars of the genre: Silvia Salamanca and Susan Frankovich!

Susan Frankovich has studied many different styles of dance as well as martial arts since childhood. She credits Arianne Monti for her strong foundation in American Tribal Style. Susan has developed her own unique "tribal stylings" and travels the world performing and teaching ATS and Tribal Fusion Belly Dance. In 2002, she was coined "the biggest attraction of the Adriatic Coast" by Amsterdam's Elle Magazine during her nightly [residency/performances] at the famous Troubadour Live Jazz Cafe in Dubrovnik, Croatia. During her time in New York City, Susan was a dancer in the original PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) branch and co-founded Alchemy Dance Theater with Sarah J. Locke. In 2005, she joined Bellyqueen and danced with them until her long distance status kept her away too long to continue to collaborate. Susan also spent a 2 year period in the SF Bay Area performing with Electric Vardo and has collaborated with solo artists Mira Betz, Elizabeth Strong, Frederique, Rose Harden and Jill Parker of Ultra Gypsy. Susan is currently based in Zagreb, Croatia.

Silvia Salamanca is a life-long dancer from Mallorca, Spain. She graduated at the age of nineteen as a major in ballet and performed professionally as a modern dancer in major Europe festivals with the contemporary dance company of the University of Barcelona. She started her career as a belly dancer in 2001, when realizing the enormous benefits that this art-form brings to women in both body and spirit (something that she felt truly missing in other dance practices). From her first teachers, Tasnim Melendres and the acclaimed Nur Banu, two natural born-Egyptians, she realized how with the practice of belly dance women can get closer to their self identity and discover oneself in a new level, increasing self-esteem, releasing stress and getting deeply in touch with the feminine essence in their soul. She is currently based in Houston TX.
